For my research project, I have created an index that assesses "Environmental Sustainability" of Japan Cities.
This idea is inspired by the performance of Japan in the report of Sustainable Development Report, formerly the SDG Index & Dashboards, published by the Cambridge University Press. According to the report, Japan has major challenges in terms of SDG 13 – Climate Action and its development trend is defined as stagnating. Additionally, though the trend is on track for SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, challenges still remain. The situation of Japan’s performance in SDG 13 and SDG 11 show the need to assess the environmental sustainability performance of cities. The Japan Environmental Sustainability City Index was created to fulfill this need.

The report examined the environmental performances of Japan's metropolitan areas under 7 different categories:
-
Energy and CO2
-
Environmental risks and resilience
-
Transportation
-
Air quality
-
Buildings
-
Waste
-
Land-use

I produced videos by using Google Earth Studio and Adobe After Effects with the concept of "City Flyover" that shows point of interest areas in London. I also created a video that presents London's urban redevelopment projects.
